I have gone from a lifting newbie, scared to push too hard and hurt myself to someone other people at the gym ask for help (& I always send them to Ruth)
I feel STRONG, knowledgeable and confident in my fitness journey. The body recomp & muscle I have been able to achieve with BTL is ASTOUNDING. I love that everything is laid out for me, along with WHY we do certain movements, form execution videos & reviews plus the best community - I am convinced this program will fit me for all seasons of life.
After being 100 pounds overweight in my 40s and 50s, then gaining and losing 35 pounds in my 60s… I knew there had to be a better way... a more sustainable way to lose weight and not always be on a diet so I joined Fat Loss Fundamentals. I loved the spreadsheet with data-driven actions and weekly reflection so that I could make adjustments in nutrition or movement to get sustainable results.
I also participated in Maintenance Method. For the first time, I could see myself not on a diet or thinking about a diet even though I had more weight to lose. At the same time that I started FLF, I joined Built to Last. I got strong and saw body composition changes - not easy when you are in your late 60s.
After 13 months of being consistent with nutritional periodization and hypertrophy strength training I have lost 32.5 pounds and 34.5 inches. Biggest win were the mindset changes and having strategies to maintain my health goals. Why do I strength train? To be healthier today, tomorrow, in my 70s and beyond.
I am a 1:1 nutrition client and a lover of BTL. I've been lifting weights for years and actually used to workout with Ruth back when she coached in the gym. Mid way through 2023 I decided it was time to get my food under control to match my efforts in the gym. I am about 99.9% through my first cut which has been hard but very rewarding. The gym is my happy place and my therapy.

Certified Personal Trainer, Certified Nutrition Coach, Certified Biomechanics & Program Design Coach
I first fell in love with health & fitness in highschool when I started running on country gravel roads & doing pinterest circuit workouts in my parents unfinished basement. BUT
I fell in love with the process when I discovered the evidence based training world & nutritional periodization. (Not sure what those words mean yet? Stick around. We won’t leave you hanging.)
Everything that we do now is the culmination of years of continuing education, mentorship & hands on experience training clients, designing programs, setting macros, and developing mindset.
I understand this journey better than most. And coaching other women through it is one of my favorite things in the world.
Detailed yet concise exercise breakdowns organized by muscle group into playlists = the last training library you'll ever need.
A guide to *minimalist macro tracking* for busy women who want to gain muscle & lose fat without being a slave to an app.
